If in any case, your religious beliefs require you miss a class that we have not cancelled for holiday observation, please know we respect such a day. Also for private school children, we honor your school vacation week if different from public schools and will not consider it an absence for regular classes. This statement does not apply to any extra or additional special classes or rehearsals where attendance is mandatory for all.
SNOW DAYS
For class cancellations due to snow please call the studio one hour prior to your class time and listen for the message on the answering machine. It will tell you if classes are cancelled. If the Braintree Public Schools cancel for a snow day we also cancel dance classes for that day. In the case that snow starts later in the aftrenoon you woudl want to check by calling to see if we have to cancel.

Please make note of due dates. It is up to you to make sure payments are made on time or you will be charged late fees or your child could be removed from class.

All payments can be made in cash or check to Melissa Kelley or Dance Studio of Braintree.
We will not accept checks made out to anything or anyone else so please learn the name of your studio or dance teacher before writing checks. A $10.00 per week late fee is charged for late tuition.
TUITION IS DUE ON THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR CLASSES OF THE WEEK
A $ 25.00 fee is charged for all returned checks. A $25.00 late fee is charged for any final costume balance not paid by the due date( Jan. 15th) NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We do out very best to inform you of all due dates for fees and other dance studio related topics and feel we should not have to chase people for things, especially fees owed to us for our services. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. For making timely payments.

ALL STUDENTS MUST ARRIVE TO CLASS ON TIME. PLEASE PLAN FOR TRAFFIC AND OTHER DELAYS THAT MAY CAUSE YOU TO BE LATE TO CLASS.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN AT THE START OF THE CLASS. 2 LATE ARRIVALS IS CONSIDERED AN ABSENCE AND WILL BE MARKED AS SO.
WE DO UNDERSTAND THAT DRIVING IN SNOW MAY CAUSE STUDENTS TO ARRIVE LATE SO OF COURSE IN THIS RARE OCCASION, WE WILL EXCUSE ALL LATE STUDENTS.

2009-2010 OBSERVATION DATE
Week of November 2ND- 6TH
Observation week is for moms and dads only. If in the case that a parent cannot attend then whoever brings the dancer to class may observe as long as they are an adult. There just is not enough room for mom, dad and other family or friends which is why we limit the number to 2 people per dancer and we prefer they be the parents
THIS DATE IS TO GIVE THE PARENTS A CHANCE TO VIEW THEIR CHILD’S PROGRESS AND SEE WHAT THEY ARE LEARNING IN DANCE CLASS. IT IS DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN CLASSES TO HAVE PARENTS IN THE ROOM AT ALL TIMES. THEREFOR, WE DEVELOPED THE OBSERVATION POLICY, WHICH HAS WORKED OUT GREAT OVER THE YEARS. THE CHILDREN LOOK FORWARD TO THE TIME EACH YEAR TO “SHOW OFF” HOW WELL THEY ARE DOING. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT FOR THE PARENTS TO VIEW THE CLASSES SO THAT IF THE NEED ARISES TO DISCUSS ANY PROBLEMS OR STRUGGLES YOUR CHILD MAY BE HAVING IN CLASS, YOU ARE WELL AWARE OF THEM.
DISCLOSURE: YOU MAY TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEOTAPE DURING OBSERVATION WEEK HOWEVER, THE PICTURES AND VIDEO CAN ONLY BE OF YOUR OWN CHILD. ANY RECORDINGS OR PHOTOS OF THE DANCER ARE TO BE USED SOLEY FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL FAMILY USE AND NOT FOR DISPLAY ON WEB SITES OR ANY OTHER FORM OF PUBLIC DISPLAY.
OBSERVATION WEEKS DO NOT INCLUDE NUTCRACKER AND/OR ANY OTHER SPECIAL REHEARSALS OR CLASSES.
FOOD AND DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT OBSERVATION SO PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COFFEE IN THE CAR.
CHILDREN OF ANY AGE ARE NOT ALLOWED AT OBSERVATION UNLESS THEY ARE A DANCER WHO HAS A CLASS FOLLOWING THEIR OWN SIBLING. DANCERS MAY NOT ATTEND THEIR SIBLINGS CLASS UNLESS THEIR CLASS IS DIRECTLY AFTER THE FIRST CLASS BEING VIEWED. ADDITIONAL CHILDREN OF ANY AGE IS DISTRACTING TO THE DANCERS, TEACHER, AND OTHER PARENTS AS WELL AS TAKES UP TOO MUCH SPACE THAT IS MUCH NEEDED FOR THE MOMS AND DADS. PLEASE ARRANGE FOR BABYSITTERS YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IF YOU FAIL TO ABIDE BY OUR OBSERVATION POLICY. IT IS FOR THE SAFETY AND FAIRNESS TO OTHERS THAT WE HAVE THESE POLICIES
Remember, observation week is a week for you, the parent , to see what is happening in class and to watch your child’s progress as well as know what is going on so if you have questions during the year you have seen a little of what we do at the studio. It is the end of the year recital that all family and friends can witness our exciting achievements from the entire year.

Knitted ballet sweaters are allowed during cold months. Knitted leg warmers/knitted shrugs/knitted fitted shorts are allowed for warm ups. Only Chiffon “ballet” skirts(wrap or pull up style – any color and pattern ) are allowed in class with the exception of Pre-Ballet classes who cannot wear skirts. All other dance clothing items, jazz pants etc, must be approved by the instructor/director so please ask before buying.
Pointe shoes are not listed as they are to be determined by the director/ instructor.
